Valerie Caubergh is interested in social power and its influence on individuals' behavior and outcomes. She has a particular focus on the role of power in the context of pursuing goals.  

Curriculum Vitae

Valerie Caubergh is currently a doctoral student at the Department of Management, Technology, and Economics (D-MTEC). She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Maastricht University, where she graduated with honors (cum laude). During her undergraduate studies, Valerie conducted an extensive research project as part of the Maastricht Research Based Learning for Excellence program, aimed at predicting the intention to consume cultured meat using the Reasoned Action Approach by Fishbein and Ajzen (2010). In parallel to her bachelor’s degree, she was selected for the Young Universities for the Future of Europe. This allowed her to follow extracurricular courses at the University of Eastern Finland, such as the ‘Inclusive Learning Environment’ course.

Following her bachelor's degree, Valerie pursued her master's degree in Work and Organizational Psychology at Maastricht University, where she graduated with honors (cum laude). During her master's program, she completed an internship at the United Nations Headquarters in New York in the Department of Operational Support – Executive Office/Headquarters Client Support Service. For her master's thesis, Valerie researched misconduct in healthcare, investigating specifically the sexual misconduct of healthcare practitioners in the Netherlands from 2010 until 2023.  

Throughout her academic career, Valerie has also been actively involved in various extracurricular activities, such as working as a faculty and all-around student ambassador, a tutor, and a member of the student evaluation team.
